(“Dani”) Apple is a historical fiction author and graphic designer based in the Northern California foothills. She enjoys writing literary and gothic fiction exploring themes of belonging and self-acceptance within the context of early American life. Sometimes the muses are humorous, and sometimes they are dark, but they always come from an integral place. When she isn’t working, writing, or obsessing over research bunny trails, you’ll find her hiking, exploring ghost towns and forgotten cemeteries, and riding motorcycles with her spouse.
As a member of the Historical Novel Society, Dani presented at their first virtual conference in 2021. Her short nonfiction and fiction works have appeared in Shame Sex Attraction: Survivors of Conversion Therapy (Jessica Kingsley Publishers), To Wear a Heart so White (Historical Writers Forum), and Hauntings (Longship Publishing). She is currently writing and querying full-length historical gothic novels.
